Ray Bradbury (1920-2012)

I'm just quietly shedding a tear at the loss of one of the greatest writers of the past 100 years. He was very old, so it's not such a shock really; but what a literary genius! If I hadn't discovered the short-stories of Ray Bradbury when I was young I wouldn't be a writer now.

Comments:
I remember reading 'The Silver Locusts' (which was later shown as a series on BBC during the late 1970's called 'The Martian Chronicles').

This was the book that got me into Ray Bradbury; very sad news...

It's a work of genius, that book! I vividly remember the scene with the Martians sailing their sand-ships across the deserts in pursuit of that human... A Big influence on J.G. Ballard's Vermilion Sands...
